Hi, I'm Heather!
I believe great clinicians aren't the ones who know everything. They're the ones who never stop learning.

Being a therapist is incredibly rewarding. It's also complicated, emotionally demanding, and at times overwhelming. You're expected to manage complex cases, make difficult clinical decisions, and support people through some of the hardest moments of their lives. All while managing a full caseload and sometimes wondering if everyone else knows something you don't. I get it. I've been there.
Early in my career, I was working with high-risk families and trying my best to do everything right and give the families the care they deserved. My supervisor at the time gave me guidance that didn't sit right with me, so I sought another opinion. Instead of being supported for asking questions, I was shamed. When I turned to the larger organization for help, I still didn't get the support I needed!
That experience stayed with me. I know how vulnerable it can feel to admit you're unsure, especially when you're responsible for someone's safety. I got tired of hearing, "Just hope you get a good supervisor..." Therapists deserve more than hope, and clients deserve quality care from clinicians who feel confident, competent, and supported.
That’s why I created Confident Clinician.
"Therapists deserve more than hope!"
Why Confident Clinician Exists
Confident Clinician is the support I wish more therapists had—and the support I wish I’d had early in my career. I created it to bridge the gap between what we were taught in grad school and what this job actually asks of us.
Confident Clinician is practical continuing education, thoughtful consultation, EMDR support, real-world tools, and a safe place for therapists to continue growing.
My goal is to help you and your team build the knowledge, clinical judgment, and confidence to trust yourself more when the answer isn’t obvious. You don’t have to know everything to be a great therapist. You just need safe places to keep learning. And when the work gets complicated, you deserve somewhere you can bring the hard questions without shame. I’ve got you.
Experience you can learn from.
My experience as an educator and skilled trainer extends beyond the classroom. I've taught future social workers and developing clinicians, trained interdisciplinary healthcare teams, and partnered with group practices to translate complex clinical concepts into practical skills clinicians can confidently use with clients.
